Prenatal Yoga Classes
Offering group or private classes and the Labor Preparation Workshop for Couples
Make pregnancy more joyful and comfortable and prepare for childbirth with gentle postures, breath work, vocal toning, and meditation. This class is an ideal practice to maintain the health and connection between your mind, body, and baby. No yoga experience is necessary!
“Yoga” is a Sanskrit word and may be translated to mean “union,” which is what this class is truly all about! This class will deepen your connection with:
your body
- gain trust and confidence in your body’s innate wisdom for birth
- gain effective skills for coping with pregnancy discomforts and labor
- learn healthy ways to reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue
- encourage flexibility, physical stamina, balance, and circulation
- tone and strengthen the body, including the uterus and pelvic floor muscles
your baby
- bond with your growing baby through mindfulness meditation
- use vocal toning to surround your baby with the soothing sound of your own voice, a practice they will remember and appreciate after their birth as well
- create a nourishing womb environment through relaxation and gentle asanas
other pregnant women
- enjoy the atmosphere of trust and camaraderie with others on their journey of pregnancy
- deep group discussion is encouraged for sharing and exploring feelings and concerns throughout your journey

Prenatal Yoga Group Class times:
Prenatal Yoga F.I.T. First class at the Colvin meets Wednesday evenings 6:00-7:30 at the OSU Colvin Center.
Class begins January 14th and ends April 19th. Classes are free for OSU students but are open to staff/faculty for a small fee. Contact Campus Recreation at (405) 744-5510 or sign up in the business office or service desk.
- If you are not associated with the university but would like to participate in a group class, please contact me for other class options.
One-hour private classes may be held in your home, scheduled at your convenience, for $25/hour or $200 for 10 hours if bought as a package.
- You may invite additional students as your space allows, $10/additional student per hour.

Labor Preparation Workshop for Couples
This 4-hour workshop is a ton of fun! It’s also great preparation for both partners to create more awareness and confidence in pregnancy, labor, and birth. You will learn skills to help you through the process of childbirth together. The class will enable expectant dads to feel more connected to their partner and unborn baby while gaining confidence and sensitivity as the birth partner. We will cover:
- Vocal toning to release tension and open the birthing passages
- Yoga for labor including asanas (poses) to help your labor progress and pranayama to connect with the breath
- Comfort measures
- Positions for labor and birth
- Meditation exercises to create relaxation and confidence
